Located a few miles north of Seward proper, Ptarmigan is a fantastic hike on your way in or out of town. We recommend an early summer walk out to the lake, to avoid the brush which can sometimes make for more bushwhacking than enjoyable. Please bring your bear spray, especially if you are traveling when the reds are upstream!
